Biographical / Historical Assesment: 

Laurel's mother Nerine Stewart owned a small store that didn't do too well.  Her father Angus Stewart worked hard on the Caldos Weather Net System as the Chief Engineer. Angus Stewarts work kept him away from the home for long periods of time so she spent most of her time under her Mothers care. Laurel was mostly underfoot and so she learned to keep out of the store and out of the way.  There was an accident one day and Laurel's mother was killed. Not know what to do Laurel had hidden, and hidden well, until the men in uniform came to the shop to investigate.  They were too interesting to stay away from for very long. Laurel now lives with her Father and travels with him all over Caldos. The death of her Mother has left Angus Stewart angry and bitter. He hides it well from his daughter who is the light of his life but to all others his anger and gruff nature gets the better of him from time to time.

Laurel is a fairly energetic girl with a good head on her shoulders and a good sense of humor.  She's shy around people she doesn't know, but will talk plenty once she gets to know people.  She's a little worried about being abandoned somewhere, but won't necessarily show that if not asked or pressed about it. She seems well adjusted to the death of her Mother although she may still have some issues with her Mothers death to work through as she gets older.
