The villages of Conklin,
Lisbon and Six Corners each contained a hotel, which offered
food and beverages to their guests and to people in the surrounding communities. When
the Conklin Hotel was destroyed by fire, Conklin no longer had a restaurant.

A short time after the hotel
fire, Michael Fitzgerald, who owned the only restaurant in the village, decided to retire.
Located on the west side of Main Street, the restaurant was purchased
by E. O. Willard.* Other owners
of the business include: Arthur Patrick, Mrs. Brandow, John and Vera Hertling,
Edith Gillhespy, and Midge Patterson.
The building was destroyed
by fire in 1987.
