A few years ago a couple of disaffected Hollow mages decided to band together for self protection. As is usual in these circumstances, the Hollowers decided to start a goth nightclub. While goth has fallen out of fashion, they still run the club for the clubkids and ravers who supplanted them. They called themselves the Danse Macabre until they discovered that there was at least four other hollow one groups that claimed that name for their own. Rather than get into a war of insults over it, they opted for a name suggested by Jerome. Les Innocents.
The Dynamic:
Les Innocent functions a lot like any basic dysfucntional family. At one another's throats much of the time. in a constant state of bickering and making up. Constantly sniping at one another for sport.
Of course, When an outside threat rears its head,
the mages of Les Innocents slap back to back and start flinging
around some hot buttered holocaust to anybody with the temerity to
raise hand against their fellows. In a combat situation, Angel,Sam,
and Quinn bolt for cover to give support, Mo and MT quietly plant
themselves and start firing. Marty conjures his shotgun and begins
bellowing imprecations and invective as he begin killing everything
in sight and Jerome begins to sing down the powers that be onto the
heads of the attackers. Each of the Mages of Les Innocents knows what
it is like to be hunted and the rule is that outside trouble ALWAYS
take precendence.
The Sexual Dynamic:
Marty doesn't believe in having sex with his chantrymates and is not attracted to any of them anyway.
Jerome holds similar opinions but occasionally Mo has crawled up into his lap when feeling blue. It's never gone further than that though. Angel thinks Jerome would be fun in the sack but is also a bit intimidated by him. She'd pursue it harder if he treated her like crap.
Sam is rarely happy unless he has at least 3 bedmates. Occasionally when things are lean he'll nail Angel as long as she brings a friend. Once in a weak moment, Mo succumbed to his charm and has regretted it ever since. She finds his little games incredibly tiresome.
Mo gets lonely and seeks comfort on occasion. She's had a an experience or two with Angel but that's really not the way she goes. Sam utterly disgusts her now. Marty is a good friend and ain't interested anyway. MT is totally into Angel, and Jerome is far too much in love with himself to ever give his heart to another for longer than a single night.
As far as anyone can tell Quinn never seems to have any sex at all.
Angel is easily as promiscuous as Sam. She's happily Bi and while she's not as into crowd scenes as Sam is, she is far kinkier than him. Angel, as can be expected is very submissive except on those occasions when she take MT to bed. on those occasions she is almost allways the initiator.
MT is hopelessly in love with Angel. He silently eats his heart out every time she beds someone else. Occasionally she takes him to bed like a teddy bear for comfort. Women who show even the most rudimentary interest in MT usually incur Angel's wrath and fall to her withering scorn. He views Sam with mixture of burning hatred and awe for his prowess.
Chain of Command:
Make no mistake, Jerome is in charge. While Marty is more the elder statesman type. Then again, Marty tends to be the concience that Jerome completely lacks. Sometimes the arguements get particularly vicious. If Mo speaks up though, both of them shut up and listen.
At times though, getting the other members of the
chantry to do things is like pulling teeth. Quinn,Angel, and Sam can
always find way to be elsewhere when actual is needing to be done.
Only Mo and MT seem unafraid of gruntwork. Marty isn't afraid of it
either but feels like he's too old for that shit and he's paid his
goddamn dues thank you very much!
Chantry Resources:
Les Innocents owns a nightclub called the Afterlife (which will be detailed elsewhere) Each member owns a small portion while the lion's share is owned by Jerome. ( To be fair, he does all of the paperwork and did put up the most capital.)
The Chantry also owns the Taco Bell franchise on the backside of the block where the club is.(it was a good investment, and there is an escape hatch built into one of the walk in freezers. all of the "owners" have keys.)
The Chantry also owns 7 Sport utility vehicles( all black, naturally...) that are in a long term parking lot a half block down. Once a month they are taken out and serviced and are occasionally used for errands of various sorts. Each has 5,000 dollars in getaway cash in the glove box. secreted next to the spare are 2 nine milimeters, 4 clips of AP rounds, a first aid kit, The SUV's have serious alarm systems and curses laid upon them. They also have a kicking sounds system. Each vehicle is also fitted with an ECM package that MT has jury-rigged together.
Jerome also owns an apartment building in another part of the city. It's on the small side but at least one full floor is kept empty for emergencies. by it's nature it has no magickal protections at all. but is stocked with cash, guns, and plenty of medical equipment. Some of the mages think that Jerome and Marty are paranoid and anal for this kind of behavior. others know better.
Marty owns a place of his own called the Eye of Osiris, Which is an Occult supply store. While most of his chantrymates have fairly specific needs in terms of equipment, it's nice to know that you have a little occult backup. Marty's contacts also run to a number of scuplters, weavers, leatherworkers, weaponsmiths and a kitchen table gun merchant or two.
MT, Quinn, and Jerome are thinking of purchasing a Storage facility just so they'll have a secure place to dump things. Jerome thinks it might also have possibilities for other mages too. Quinn keeps his lab equipment in one of these and MT has taken to storing a goodly portion of the chantries armory in another.
Jerome has started grand cayman island accounts
for each of his chantrymates. Some are more responsible about the
money than others. Angel's account tends to vacillate wildly.
The Armory:
Aside from the personal weaponry carried by each member and the weapons allready mentioned above, MT has started a collection of weapons for various situations. in the collection are the following weapons:
2 desert eagles, 2 mac 10's and 1 taser are kept
behind the bar downstairs. the rest are kept in a black metal weapons
locker with a keypad lock.
Policies:
Allies:
The Chantry has a small select vampire clientel that patronizes the club. Many of these would not stick their necks out for the mages if push came to shove but still, finding a new place to hang out would be a hassle. The Club counts Linus Janisek, and occasionally Baby Dahl puts in an appearance.( allthough the rest of the Crimson Heaven pack is not welcome here. Baby at least seems to understand the rules. Once, Punchinello put on an impromptu magic show in the downstairs bar and impressed the socks off of Jerome.
Butch Stilman is a good friend of Marty's and when
he's in town he stops in and visits. Karen Griswold, also has been
known to show up here, mainly to see Mo. Malice N. Wonderland has
also been known to show up here. (Jerome doesn't like him...Angel was
immediately attracted to him...never a good sign.) Malice for his
part thinks the place has potential.
Enemies:
Naturally, The Chantry has made an enemy or two.
