The Shiva driver has a dual coil, but for the purposes of a single channel and optimal 2-3 ft^3 closed box performance, only one coil is driven. The driver
is bottom mounted in a 26x17x17" (HWD) enclosure and the system Qtc is around .79 -- together with the subwoofer 25Hz 4dB bass boost, the system
f3 is about
28Hz. The Shiva has a 15mm throw in one direction, and together with this 250W (into 8 ohm) amplifier, will rattle the walls in just about any room.
I use two for
home theater movies -- the listening position lower frequency response can be smoothed out to some degree by having the source come from
more than one
location.
