MARK TURNER
                                               A LIFE THAT SUCCEEDS
INTRODUCTION
Every person is making choices that will lead to success or failure.  We are planting a spiritual
garden that will yield life or death!  Every accountable person will be judged on the actions and
deeds we do on earth.

Gal.  6:7-10  Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that
shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap
corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint
not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto
them who are of the household of faith.

Some facts of life: (1) no quick fixes; (2) no real bargains; (3) no permanent solutions  (4) not
many forever friends; and (5) few repeat performances.

REALIZE THE DEBT WE OWE TO GOD AND MAN

Rom.  1:14  I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the
                    unwise.

I have an obligation to my children, and to their children, to see to it that when I am gone,  I have
left behind a legacy called, Faithfulness, love of God, morality and decency.  I owe a debt I
cannot repay, so I must teach and preach to every soul and tell them of my Lord.  The least of my
duties is to try to reach out to others for the Lord that reached down for me.

I have never beat a debt to any man or woman in my life regarding physical things.  Likewise I must
determine not to defraud God or man in spiritual matters.

I must reach out to the lost and dying with the gospel message of Jesus Christ.

Mark 16:15  Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

Until I realize the fact that souls are at stake,  I will not understand the real need of mankind.  The redeemer and
Lord,  has entrusted into my hands and the message of the ages. The gospel is the power of God to save souls..
                  .
Rom. 1:16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation
                    to all them that believe.

.                                        I must commit to the lord

II Cor.  5:14  For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one
died for all, then were all dead:

If God's people will see nothing but the goal line, will accept nothing but victory, will pay any
price, will bear any burden, will suffer any hurt and hardship, will refuse to be discouraged or disheartened, we
cannot help but win; because we are charged with the power of God's word urging us to stay on the course.

Hab.  2:2-4  And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain
upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time,
but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely
come, it will not tarry. Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just
                     shall live by his faith."

We want to be on the Lord's side, Satan's side, and our side.  We must realize we cannot serve
more than one master.

Matt. 6:24   No man can serve two masters: for he will hate the one, and love the other; or
else he will hold to the one , and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Until we see the glory there is in serving God, and look with spiritual vision, we will never be
committed nor succeed.

The success of building and achieving is based on the vision and dreams we have to our commitment.
The Taj Mahal was first a dream.  Every successful undertaking starts out with a dream and vision.
After we see the dream and ,we must commit and make them come to pass.

II Cor. 5:7   For we walk by faith not by sight.

Life is fragile and must be handled with prayer

James 4:1-3 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of
your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have
and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask
and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

Nothing of eternal importance is ever accomplished apart from prayer. A distilled two minute
bedtime prayer is not enough to face and fight life's battles.  The Lord taught us the power
and the need of prayer.

Luke 18:1   men ought always to pray, and not to faint.

There are some things money will do; there are some things human effort will do; there are some
things human ingenuity will do; but there are some things that only God can do.  Prayer will
focus our dependence upon the power of God.

Heb. 4:16  Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain
mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."

Until I realize I can't handle life, and take my dependence to God through prayer, I will be an utter
failure.

When a person is on their knees to God they are closer to him.  When everything in life is amiss,
and we are flat on our back ,we look up to God and pray.  If you are too busy to, then you
are too busy!

Prayer is our communications to God.  Prayer to God for the Christian, is as essential as the bloodstream is to the body.

I Thess.  5:17  Pray without ceasing.

We Need To Have Faith And Be Faithful To God

Heb. 11:6   But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must
believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

If you are going to live for God and make a difference in this life,  you must be willing to live
and die by faith.  Even If you die, your faith will still live on for the glory of God!

Rev.   2:10  be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

Faith is standing on God's word and believing His promises, even if you have to act and stand in
faith alone.

God And One Man Make The Majority

Rom.   8:1-2  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who
walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in
Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death."

Rom.  8:28-29   And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to
them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow,
he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the
                          firstborn among many brethren."

Rom.   8:37  Nay, in all things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

God's man is indestructible until he has finished the work God has called him to do.

God never promised to keep you out of trouble; but He does promise to be with you through all
your troubles.

I Pet.  5:7  Cast your cares upon him for he careth for you.

We need people today who will say, "We can, we must, and we will!

When life tackles us, remember the game is not over till God says that it is over.

A war is fought and won after many battles.

Prov.   24:16   For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall
                         fall into mischief."

Remember if you fall and sin as a Christian you can come back through prayer and repentance.

I John 2:1  My little children, these things write I  unto you, that you sin not.  And if any man
sin, we have an advocate with the father, Jesus Christ the righteous:"

CONCLUSION

YOUR LIFE WILL NEVER BE WHAT IT NEEDS TO BE UNTIL YOU ARE A
CHRISTIAN!

To become a child of God you must believe that Jesus is the son of God, John 8:24.
You must turn from sin which is repentance, Luke 13:3-5.
You must make the confession with the mouth that Jesus is the son of God, Romans 10:10.
You must be baptized for the remission of sins, Acts 2:38.
You must live faithful to the lord until death, Revelations 2:10.
