SATAN AND YOUR MARRIAGE
INTRODUCTION
Marriage is to be made up of three personalities. We have
one man, one woman, and God. God is the one that
joins man and woman together, Matthew 19:3-9.
Unfortunately Satan, has worked his way into the marriage equation.
We need to study the harm and the effect that Satan is having on our
homes and marriage.
STATEMENTS ABOUT MARRIAGE
Troubles in marriage often start when a man is so busy earning his
salt that he forgets his sugar.
If a man has enough horse sense to treat his wife like a thoroughbred she won't ever turn into an old nag.
Judging from the specimens picked as husbands no wonder a bride blushes.
When a man marries a woman they become one, the trouble starts when they try to decide which one.
One foolish man said to his girlfriend before she left him, You just
stick to your ironing, cleaning, cooking,
and washing because no wife of mine is ever going to work.
Ladies want to choke men like that.
Somebody said single people die sooner but marriage is a slow death.
Because many couple constantly harp at each other doesn't mean their marriage was made in heaven.
They never knew what happiness was until they got married then it was too late.
Marriage is like a midnight phone call, you get a ring then you wake
up.
SATAN'S THREAT TO MARRIAGE
You think of the most deceitful, evil person you have ever known.
Maybe a business person, a family member, whoever,
and that you knew was underhanded. Multiply that person
by several million times, and then you have a picture of Satan.
God created man and woman and placed them in a garden of Eden. The devil deceived the woman and beguiled her to eat of the forbidden fruit. Likewise the man sinned because of the evil influence and temptation of the devil. Because of satan paradise was lost.
John 8:44 "Ye are of your father the devil, and the
lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the
beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him.
When he speaketh a lie, he
speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it".
II COR. 11:14 and no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed
into an angel of light.
The scriptures teach of his monstrous and evil ways. The devil has sought to destroy all that is good and pure !
We still be alert and watch out for this evil being. The devil is still alive and faring well on earth today!
I Pet. 5:8 Be sober , be vigilant: because yor adversary
the devil, as a roaring lion walketh about,
seeking whom he may devour".
Rev. 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable,
and murderers , and whoremongers,
and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the
lake which burneth
with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
The devil has a place prepared for him in torment.
Matt. 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left
hand, Depart from me, ye cursed into everlasting fire,
prepared for the devil and his angels".
Matt. 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment:
but the rightous into life eternal.
SATAN AND MARRIAGE
Satan says marriage is not important. Satan tells men and women not to marry, just live together.
Satan has changed the name of this sin from fornication to co-habitation. This is a sin that will damn and doom the soul.
I Cor. 6:9-10 Know ye not that the unrightous
shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived:
neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor
abusers of themselves
with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor
extortioners,
inherit the kingdom of God.
This relationship is illicit and not right in the sight of God. Millions want the privileges of marriage but not the responsibilities!
Because of financial, legal, and other reasons, people choose to shack up instead of marry up.
We don't want to tie the knot because we think it is to tight and restricting. Some reasons to marry are such as these;
If you want to please God. Marriage is the way that God designed sexual relations to be enjoyed by men and women.
Heb. 13:4 Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled,
but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
God chose for man and woman to live together in marriage. God
plans this for our own good.
I Cor. 7:2 Nevertheless to avoid fornication, let every man have
his own wife, and let every
woman have her own husband".
Not a harlot, mistress, or prostitute, but his own wife.
It is better to marry than to burn with passion. I Corinthians 7:9
Companionship In Marriage
Gen. 2:18 It is not good for man to be alone.
God created a woman to be the wife of man.
Sometimes looking at a woman and comparing her to man, I think we are as different as daylight from dark.
When I was younger I thought the biggest difference between the sexes
was anatomy. As I have grown older
and counsel myriad's of couples, I discovered something else.
Actually the distinction of anatomy may be the least.
Psychologically and emotionally we are very different.
God made us, but a man needs a woman like nothing else can supply or
fill. Man is what a woman needs to
make her complete. The couple give love and security to each
other. The couple receives close companionship
and love in this relationship we call marriage.
A mom and dad is needed in the house together. Both are committed
to each other. They raise their children to know God
and love him. This plan was how God wanted society to exist.
A home without both parents, is missing something vital and essential.
God says not to marry people of the same sex. Some states
try to condone and legislate same sex marriages.
The Bible teaches that this lifestyle is a perversion.
Society may say homosexuality is alright but God says that
it is sin.
God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.
Homosexuality is unnatural.
Rom. 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile
affections: for even their women did change
the natural use into that which is against nature."
Same sex relations is not a natural thing. God condemns
this lifestyle. The Bible makes homosexuality unscriptural.
God clearly denounces this behavior.
Lev.18:22-23 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind:
it is abomination. Neither
thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall
any woman stand
before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion".
The background of this condemnation included human sacrifice to Molech.
Then God addrsses homosexuality. After he forbids homosexual relations
he forbids sexual relations with animals.
Lev. 18:21 And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass
through the fire to molech, neither shalt thou profane
the name of thy God: I am the Lord.
Somewhere between human sacrifice, and beastiality, God voiced
his displeasure against homosexuality.
Lev. 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth
with a woman, both of them have committed an
abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall
be upon them".
Please don't misunderstand me! I am not saying we should
stone, or kill those who practice homosexuality.
No more so than we would an adulterer. We love the person, but
despise the sinful conduct. We oppose the
activity they engage in.
We read of some who had practiced some sexual perversions. Now they
have been forgiven, and saved from
these sins.
I Cor. 6:9 No ye not that the unrightous shall not

neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor
abusers of themselves
with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor
extortioners, shall
inherit the kingdom of God".
effeminate in the New International Version says male prostitutes
in this passage. Those that abuse themselves with
mankind , is translated, homosexual offenders.
Here are some people who had practiced these various sins, before becoming a Christian. Now they have repented.
As a society we accept more and more unnatural and unscriptural relationships.
We need to wake
up and understand what God says. The media and the acceptablity
of Americans are growing more
"gay" oriented.
Homosexuality does not pro-create. Never has two men, or two women
had sexual relations and reproduced
or pro-created.
Children need a mother and a daddy. The sociologist speak about
the benefits of a man and woman in the home.
LEAVE WHEN THINGS GET ROUGH
Marriage was designed to be permanent. We have made marriage temporary
instead of permanent. People dissolve
marriages as easily as throwing out the garbage. Marriage is
not to be entered into lightly, and must not be left lightly.
Matt. 19:6 Wherefore they are no more twain,
but one flesh, What therefore God hath joined togeather,
let not man put asunder."
We focus so much on the exceptions to dissolve marriages, that we fail
to teach and understand the permanent
arrangement of marriage.
The ideal plan is one man and one woman for life.
Stay with one mate all the days of your life. Committed to each other
till death do you part. I am thankful to see couples celebrate 50
and 60 years. Every year we need to have more and
more love for our spouses. We become as one, stronger every day
we are together, if Christ is in our lives and marriage.
Sometimes couple start sentences together because they think alike. These couples are growing more into that oneness relationship. This is a noble and beautiful relationship. A companionship base on love and unity.
Amos 3:3 Can two walk together except the be agreed.
Husbands and wives need to realize that God has joined them together.
Couples must love each other. Couples
need to seek the best for each other. We must not throw
our marriages away.
MONEY MAKES A MARRIAGE
Satan has caused marriages to crumble because of money. One of
the biggest problems a couple faces is in the
bank account. We have become so selfish and materialistic that
we fuss and feud over money.
Your marriage cannot be based on your monetary worth.
I Tim. 6:10 For the love of money is the root
of all evil, which while some coveted after
they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many
sorrows.
Money and possession are not wrong. The sinful lust and inordinate desire for wealth is sinful.
The devil makes young married couples think they should start out as
wealthy as their parents who have
worked for decades.
The Lord has warned us about the subject of money. The Lord has
given us 500 passages about prayerand he gave us
2,000 verses on money and wealth.
Matt. 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Someone says we fight to much about money matters, because money matters too much.
The devil makes us concentrate on material things instead of spiritual things.
Divorce in some homes have been over money and material things.
God says "till death do we part", and we sometimes say, " till debt do we part"
Money and wealth will not make us happy or our marriage stronger.
Do we work for money, or do we let money work for us? Love cannot be based on a bank account.
Financial problems can strangle and kill love, sexual desire, emotional
stability ,and also spirituality.
Our marriages are worth far more than money and things. People
leave their homes for someone that might
offer them more money and things. Things and money cannot satisfy.
CONCLUSION
The best way to strengthen a marriage is for the couple to be faithful
Christians. The Bible teaches us how to love
and care one for another. The God who made us has given our homes
his instruction manual. Homes will be strengthened
when the Lord builds the foundation. Is your home a Christian
