EuroRanch '98
EuroRanch
stems from one too many "man, we should rent a big villa in Europe" talks with old friends over beers at the infrequent parties which bring us together from around the globe. And now that we've been out of college long enough to have a decent paycheck, but not long enough to be strapped with a family, it's the perfect time to go. This web page serves as the information source for friends going on the trip as well as those who just want to keep track of what we're up to. It's a convenient way to keep everyone up to date considering that we're spread out around the globe: from South Africa in the South to Michigan in the North and Tokyo in the East to San Francisco in the West. As it continues to evolve before, during and after the trip, it will serve as a chronicle of the adventure and perhaps a resource for others planning similar trips - or friends who couldn't make it, but want to hear what's going down.Trip Details

What's with the name?
The name
EuroRanch is derived from weekend getaways a group of friends from California have taken for the past 5 years. The destination of these trips has been The Sea Ranch, a small community off Hwy 1 on the Pacific coast a hundred miles north of San Francisco. The Sea Ranch getaways quickly became synonymous with a group of friends enjoying good music, wine, food and fun. Some people would hang out at the house most of the weekend playing games, others would, hike and explore the area. Most would relax in the hot tub and, at night, all would enjoy fabulous meal prepared by those among us who love to cook along with wine, beer, a little more wine, a little more beer … you get the picture. We couldn't do Sea Ranch this year due to many people making moves this year, but Europe came up and the name
EuroRanch stuck!
