TIPS!  What have we all learned from this?

  1. If you want to lighten up your Nutz to soar or slope, you can drop the wing spar and just use foam.  Just don't try any real "zoomie" launches off a bungie if you leave the spar out.
  2. One builder designed a "nose bumper" out of EPS foam while he was learning to fly his Nutz.  Protected the pointy end on those "doink" landings
  3. Don't spread glue from a hot glue gun with your finger.
  4. You can taper sand both top and bottom of the trailing edge so you end up with what equals one thickness of fanfold foam.
  5. To remove the plastic skin on fanfold, use a dowel and roll it up on it as you travel down the panel.
  6. 3/4 oz. Fiberglass around the nose and leading edge strengthen things up considerably and doesn't add too much weight.
  7. You can use your heat gun to shrink up the packing tape on your wing.  I'd suggest that you do the bottom first since it tends to pull a warp into your wing.  Then you can lay the wing on a flat surface and do the top to straighten things out.
  8. A plywood landing skid makes a handy "handle" to launch with.
