This picture is Gladys, ---Uly----and --me at my sixteen birthday in N. J .New York City, Had Mayor Koch, Puerto Rico, had Feliza Rinqon, we have, Gladys Perez Mendez, Who I personally call La Alcaldesa it means Mayor and that’s what she is a Mayor not of one city, but of the world. Where ever she goes she makes friends, she travels quite a bit too, And has friends all over the world, But more importantly she keeps family members in touch with each other and with the special bonds we all share. You can't help but like Gladys, almost like the letters of her name you just are always glad to see her, She has an infectious laugh that makes you want to smile even when you don't know why. She always loving, kind, helpful, and cheerful in spite of all the Illness and hardships she has been through. Never does an unkind word about anyone passes through her lips, and she is always happy to meet new people and when she does she treats them like they have known each other all their lives. I have been in stores with her and strangers strike up a conversation with her and act as if they were bosom buddies. I don't know exactly what it is about her, but everybody loves Gladys. She is the first grandchild of the original
thirteen clan the Daughter of the Eldest sibling Virginia Perez Mendez, But I am not going to tell you how old she is, I will tell you she sees everything with fresh eyes and makes you feel like everything is new and exciting, She has more energy than anyone I know, and more hope and goodwill too. Maybe that's why we all feel she truly is a Goodwill Ambassador, bouquets to you Madam Ambassador or like I like to call her Madam Alcaldesa te mandamos flores.
