I'm Todd March, and this is a page about the great Ghia I recently found and brought into my life...

These Photos are 4 months into the restoration of this all original car, that was in excellent condition when I found and adopted it....

The Ghia's original paint—Willow Green—was restored with lots of rubbing compound, polishing compound and elbow grease. Followed by several coats of Zymol wax, the original vibrant luster of the lime green paint shimmers once more!

New door panels with custom chrome trim strips were installed. Original arm rests and chrome trimmed window crank handles complete the original stock interior.

Also installed was a mint condition original Volkswagen Sapphire XV AM/FM radio that works great.

I found my Ghia online, at:

The upholstery is original. And in excellent, un-marred or ripped condition to boot! The driver's cushion shows wear, but some new cushioning should help to restore it to match the mint, pristine condition of the passenger seat and rear seat upholstery.

Next on the restoration list is a new dash face, dash pad and knee pads...

I didn't get a chance to take a shot of the engine, but it too is all original and in great shape.

The compression was recently checked and comes in at almost 100 psi on all four cylinders.

The tranmission has only 5,000 miles on it since a rebuild.

Besides being a classic and elegant collector's car, this green Ghia is also my daily driver. It gets me around metropolitian Los Angeles with great and economical style. It runs like a top and is shear fun to drive.

Hardly a week goes by that I don't get a comment on my Ghia here in LA, the home of unique automobiles...

"Great Ghia, man!"...

"What kind of car is THAT?!"

"That is really a cute car..."

"Is that an old Audi TT?"

"Awesome Porsch, dude!"
