Unit Meetings

The Marysville unit meets every 3rd Tuesday of each month, Located at Jennings Park in central Marysville At 7:00pm.

If you are interested in becoming a Member, you may want to show up early and join in with the informal gathering prior to the meeting.

Membership in the Marysville Search & Rescue Unit is voluntary. You must not have been convicted of a Felony. Membership is restricted to persons over the age of 14, members under the age of 18 shall have written permission of their legal parent or guardian to participate.

 

To join, you will be given a new member's packet with a checklist. You will need a current First Aid card & CPR card, you can obtain the class & card's through us, the fire station, Red Cross, or possibly through your employment. Second, You will need to have at least the minimum equipment listed in the Essentials below. Having the minimum will allow you to become a member and be placed on our call list for missions. However, you will need more specialized gear, most of which is also listed, to be utilized on technical missions.

 

New members will be trained by our unit and county along side of seasoned members in various specialties such as grid search methods, rope rigging for rescue, medical, tracking, equipment handling, radio procedures, etc. Some advanced training such as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Helicopter Team Membership, and drivers are restricted to active members who have one or more years and meet requirements.

New members will not be placed in positions that are above their skill level, which may jeopardize themselves or others on missions.
