B. Need to be the first in the field on a search.

Ideally, Trackers would arrive with the hasty teams or the group that arrives first on the scene. Trackers can arrive at anytime and still be effective. Grid searching, the method that seems to be used first, (which should be used as a last effort) will make it much harder for trackers to sort out, and take more valuable time from the search. Tracking can be deployed as a resource at any time during a search, the tracking will be able to evaluate the situation and determine a course of action.
