I welcome your suggestions
The Following is a great suggestion from Del Morris, as I receive more Ideas I'll sum them up and reformat them.Being on our Overhead Team and a tracker (and many of our OH are) there is a problem that I have witnessed when participating on out of county searches.
Assignments are being written that do not have the 'tactics' of a tracker in mind. This has also been noted in dog assignments, but that's a different forum.
Thought: Provide a 'Tracker Liaison' to work closely with the OPS and Plans Chiefs, offering assignment suggestions and answering their questions about the abilities of the trackers. Being in the CP will be a plus to help evaluate the validity of 'clues' report and tracks seen. This Liaison should perhaps be your 'best' tracker ... after approaching the PLS and determining the 'Prime Sign' ... staying at the CP and helping direct/guide the tracker assignments.
How's that for a 'Role for a Tracker', work at the CP.
