Filament 0675
Purpose of Web Page
Filament 0675 is similar in appearence to filament 0041 except that 0675 is much smaller. The trichome has a length of 50-150 µm and cells with widths of 0.7-1.0 µm. The trichomes are straight to slightly curved and are usually covered with attached growth. The filament are usually found extending out of the floc. 0675 is Gram variable and Neisser negative. A sheath is present.

This is a Gram stain of filament 0675. 0675 stains gram variable, that is, part of the filament may stain Gram negative while another portion of the filament may stain Gram positive. The cell walls may stain Gram positive as in this picture. |
