(Loc 1), 1502 Q NW (Loc 2). Appears as son of Amos & Sarah
(Downer) Gould in "The Downers of America ... with ...

W.W. Gould accepted a commission as Second Liertenant,
Company H. under Col John McLane's Erie Regiment - also
known as the "Three Months' Regiment". The regiment drilled
at Camps Wilkins and Wright outside of Pittsburg for the
period of their enlistment, but were never mustered into the
U.S. Army. The regiment returned to Erie on 20 July 1861.
