Note: From the Last Will and Testament of Amos Gould, and
the obituary of his wife Sarah, we have established that
Amos' sister "Ann" Gould married a Rufus Nims, and that Amos
G. Nims was a product of that union. In addition to Amos
G., census records document that the children of Ann Gould
and Rufus Nims included Jerusha, Lucretia, John Tyler and
Rufus Hale. Census records also identify Ann as Sarah A.
Nims. Is it is reasonable to conclude that Sarah A. is Ann?
Kerry Simi, who posted the Ginther Family Page on Rootsweb
believes that Rufus married first Ann Virginia Gould, and
second Sarah Standish (of Fort Ann, NY). However, Ann was
still living at the time her brother Amos Gould or Erie Co.,
PA wrote his will in February 1876 and there is no separate
census record found for Ann Nims. Furthermore, there is a
conflict with LDS Family Group Records for Rufus NIMS, Sarah
Ann GOULD and Rufus Hale NIMS which place their origin as
Ashtabula Co., OH. A marriage license for Rufus and Ann may
shead light on the true origins of Amos Gould.

Sara A. (Gould) Nims is living in Wisconsin with her
daughter Jerusha and son-in-law Joseph Greenier at time of
the 1870 census. Her husband, Rufus Nims is living 4 houses
away with their son, John T. Nims.
