The 15 Dec 1869 marriage record for Margaret C. Shafer (dau
of Wm and Anna Zollman), gives her husband as James N.
Brown, (son of Nelson and Malinda Brown) age 34. This
corresponds with the age of James S. Brown listed in the
1850 census. Conclusion that James S. and James N. are the
same individual.

A letter dated 1966 from William B. Zollman, spoke of
visiting the graves of James N. Brown and Catherine Zollman
Brown in the yard of a small Episcopal Church at Natural
Bridge, VA. The church is no longer there, and there were
no other graves in the area.
