The last literal Daughter of the American Revolution -- her
father, Richard, was with George Washington at Valley Forge
in 1777, and was 77 years old when Anne was born. Anne
experienced four major wars in her lifetime. To quote a
newspaper article commemorating her 100th birthday, "She
eats everything, is fondest of porterhouse steak, waffles
and sausage, sauerkraut and spare ribs. Her only 'medicine'
is a teaspoon of whiskey, port or sherry now and then. She
drank three cups of coffee daily, cut this down to two when
rationing came. She never smoked because she felt it 'looks
too rough' but if others want to -- let them, she says."
