1880 Census - Adair County, Kentucky White Oak Voting Precinct. Milton (33), Nancy J. (30), Apalona (10), Cleopatra (9), Otha (5), Minora (4).


Reuben Pierce

1870 Census - very hard to read. Joel (44), Nancy (43), William (20) farm labor, Robert (18) farm labor, Mary A.(16), James (14), Martha (12), George (10), Mills (8) - previous 7 in school, Jasper (6), Reubin (4), Louisa (1). Value of land - $1500.

1880 Russell County, Kentucky - Rowena #3 - Robert (30), Mills (17), Reubin (12), Louiza (10), Jasper (14), George (18) - both in Mortality Schedule, Jessie Pierce (32), Alvis (5) - relationship not known. Also Francis Evins or Evins Francis (24) as one of family) and Maud (3) and George 10/12. Still living next door to William Pierce, blacksmith. Note indicated that father was born in Virginia and mother was born in Kentucky.

Misc: Came north to Russell County, near Casey County, on a cattle drive at about age 16, and then got a job with a lumber company. He worked on the Cumberland River at one time. He traveled to Texas looking for work before he was married. He moved to Casey County in about 1919 from Russell County where he owned land.

1900 Census - Milton Bryant (Father-in-law) living with Reuben and Lona Pierce in Casey County District 6, Sheet 2. Otha Bryant (24) and Minora Bryant (22). Reuben Pierce (29) born June 1870, Lona Pierce born March 1870, Owen born 1896, Flora Lee born 1897, and Fannie Pearl born March 1900. All were born in Kentucky and farmers.
