Winning the Battle!

Sat. May 21, 2005.
Dave Wildes returned to lead the second major assault on the invasion of the vegetation. The ranks were low in
number but Dave Tordella and Kitty Wildes joined in with brute strength and we have won another victory!
Inside the gates
the team was small but we made some advances. Ginny Manthos led the assault on the weeds around the baby pool with Margaret
Masters finishing them off. Peder Jessen led the attack from above cleaning the gutters with Moe Adato as backup,
spraying them down. Moe also filled in as backup to Vicki Holcombe, painting the Baby Pavilion. Numerous
small assignments were accomplished by Mary Kay Ippolito, Allen Martin, Nancy Jessen and Brian Johnson. Brian persisted
and finished off painting the fence black. Over the past couple of weeks progress has been made in the organization
and cleaning of the Pool Office/Guard Area by Mary Kay, Vicki, and Nancy. We still have many projects that we would
love to see accomplished over the summer. Please look for a list at the pool and volunteer.

A Great Start!
May
7th Great Success!
What great
weather we had for our yard sale and 1st workday! We greatly appreciate all those who donated to the yard sale
and came to help out. A HUGE thank you to Lorraine Frankfurt for coordinating and running the yard sale and to
Debbie Love who coordinated and ran concessions. We had many wonderful members help throughout the day, with
a special thank you to long-standing members Pat Collette and Jenny Bergsten who stayed from 7am to 3pm.
Our 1st workday
was a tremendous success! We were able to make a huge dent in reclaiming the land that the brush and
vines had taken over on the side yard. Thank you to Scott Stewart, who brought in his chipper to rid us of the
brush! We were also able to resod the volleyball area, paint many of the tables, and clear part of the back
hill!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, to all those who came and put in a
tremendous amount of hard work! The pool is a more beautiful place because of you!
