Mayor Anello used his first year in office to strengthen bonds of development between the private and public sector.  At the same time, the mayor has campaigned that it is the city of Niagara Falls, which is home to the natural wonder, that attracts 15 million annual visitors to this area.  As chief executive of the city, Mayor Anello believes the community must stake a greater claim to the falls themselves.  Mayor Anello makes it clear that he is and will remain the point man for tourism and development in the city he calls home.

 

 

CITY COUNCIL CHAIRMAN

CHARLES WALKER

 

Charles has been a member of the Niagara Falls City Council for the past 6-1/2 years and has been the Chairman for the past year and a half.

 

A member and Deacon of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Niagara Falls, Charles is well known for his work with young people.  He has been a member of numerous committees at Niagara Falls High School,  and currently serves on many committees and commissions in the City of Niagara Falls.  He is the ex-officio of the Niagara Falls Human Rights Commission, which he brought back to the City of Niagara Falls after it was dissolved by the previous administration. 

 

He is a proponent of the Niagara Falls Housing Authority’s Hope VI project;  and the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center as they move forward in creating a beautiful medical campus on Tenth Street in Niagara Falls.  Charles is married to his wife, Linda, and they live in Niagara Falls with their two children.
