Walk Like A Human July, 2004 Natasha, a five-year-old black Macaque monkey living at Safari Park near Tel Aviv in Suffering
from what was diagnosed as a severe case of stomach flu she experienced difficulty breathing and her heart wasn't functioning
properly. After intensive treatment at the zoo’s clinic her condition stabilized and she began walking exclusively on
her hind legs, unlike other monkeys who alternate between walking semi-upright and dropping down on all fours to move
around. Other than walking upright,
Natasha's behavior returned to “normal,” said the medic attending, who attributed her change of walk to a change
in her brain which he called “brain damage.” Macaques are
