Together facing the new totalitarianism
After having overcome fascism, Nazism, and Stalinism,
the world now faces a new totalitarian global threat:
Islamism.
We, writers, journalists, intellectuals,
call for resistance to religious totalitarianism and for the promotion
of freedom, equal opportunity and secular values for all.
The recent events, which occurred after the publication of drawings of Muhammed
in European newspapers, have revealed the necessity of the struggle for these universal values. This struggle will not be
won by arms, but in the ideological field. It is not a clash of civilisations nor an antagonism of West and East that we are
witnessing, but a global struggle that confronts democrats and theocrats.
Like all totalitarianisms,
Islamism is nurtured by fears and frustrations.
The hate preachers bet on these feelings in order to form battalions destined to
impose a liberticidal and unegalitarian world.
But we clearly and firmly state: nothing, not even despair,
justifies the choice of obscurantism, totalitarianism and hatred.
Islamism is a reactionary ideology
which kills equality, freedom and secularism wherever it is present. Its success
can only lead to a world of domination: man's domination of woman, the Islamists' domination of all the others.
To counter this,
We Must Assure Universal Rights
to oppressed or discriminated people.
We reject cultural relativism,
which consists in accepting that men and women of Muslim culture should
be deprived of the right to equality, freedom and secular values in the name of respect for cultures and traditions.
We refuse to renounce our critical spirit
out of fear of being accused of "Islamophobia",
an unfortunate concept which confuses criticism of Islam as a religion
with stigmatisation of its believers.
We plead for the universality of freedom of expression, so that a critical
spirit may be exercised on all continents, against all abuses and all dogmas.
We appeal to democrats and free spirits of all countries that our century should be one of Enlightenment, not
of obscurantism.

1) The Element of Time
INFINITE PATIENCE
A sense of patience is cultivated by the religious dogma that fills the air of jihad gangs as languaging,
and as a fog it puts a damper on thinking. In the fog of jihadist dogma is described a “religion” designed
to infuse its principles and to enforce its detailed personal laws, divinely decreed, into all aspects of human life - Islam
imposed on all peoples of planet Earth - by hook or by crook, by favor or by force.
Submission is required in all aspects of their thinking and behavior, even in their most intimate realms
of privacy. Allah knows everything; men, his slaves, know nothing. Al Qaeda will keep on trying, however long it takes: time
is no object.

2) The Element of Stealth
Denial of Defensive Intelligence
This is the one requirement that ‘frames’ all of al Qaeda’s methods of operation: its
operatives never leave behind clues that might reveal the mastermind structure of any terror plot.
These lacunas, these mysterious holes in the ground which leave investigators ‘in the dark,’ describe
the lack of actionable intelligences available for the taking of defensive or retaliatory actions.

3. The Element of Involvement
CREATION OF MANY 'FRONTS'
Al-Qaeda’s third observable characteristic is the many fronts for jihad created in Europe and America, and around the world. On divisive social fault lines, they are busy creating and/or implementing conflicts:
A - between Muslims
1) good/practicing Muslims ("believers")against
2) bad/infidel Muslims ("apostates," (Arabic: ارتداد,
irtidād; ridda, murtaad).
Also, "believers" must be busy creating and/or implementing conflicts B) against everyone else ("infidels").
Infidels of any stripe have no
right to life, liberty or the pursuit of happiness, since there are no rights at all outside of Islam.
In the Arabic language, 'liberty" is defined exactly as absolute submission to the law (Sharia)
and customs of the 'great" ancestral prophet.
Populations under siege are encouraged by jihadists, overtly and covertly, to divide
- between those who want to
1) placate-appease and those who want to
2) oppose the invasion
of their ‘infidel’ cultures by the "believer" Islamists . The al-Qaeda-Islamist point-of-view on the
divine Allah requires that implacable infidels, those who oppose Islam, are expected to be treated harshly and without
mercy.
Around the world, everywhere Muslims have communities, the fundamentalist Wahhabi-inspired Arab al-Qaeda is busy
proselytizing and recruiting Wahhabist believers.
New ‘true believers’ are created and managed by extremists for the purpose of empowering the collective
offensive fronts against other groups. Their tactics include the causing of divisions in the other groups, making demands,
insisting on Islamic processes, rewarding compliance, punishing dissent, etc., etc., constantly proselytizing and recruiting
with all of the programmed fervor characteristic of all fanatics. It is an emotionalism well programmed by clerics of
terror speaking in the name of the most holy, i.e., by all Islamist clerics.
Classic practice of Arabic Expansion.
So, it is characteristic of al-Qaeda to follow the classic traditional patterns of the Islamic expansion from the Arabian Peninsula, The Arabic language has come to express totalitarian
cult dedicated to expansion, which aggressions began during the life of their "prophet."
This is the very prophet who conveniently
prophesied that there could be no prophets after him in all of history. To entertain in one's head ideas other than those
of the prophet, in the militant World of Quran of any day, is to risk one's very physical head.
Assassins: One morning, near a peaceful village of non-Muslims, a gang of Arabs pitch a camp and soon introduce
themselves, offering and requesting support. In the World of Quran in general, the assassination of infidels is not murder
- but suicide missions are an Arab speciality, practiced by Muslims from the beginnings of their history. Assassin is a word
derived from Arabi, the name of a secret order, the Ismaili sect of Islam. It is from harm and the threat of harm that
bullies and terrorists fashion their fearful power.
The imposition of the fear of jihad is but a continuation of a religious
‘struggle’ to impose the sharia law, decreed by their prophet nearly a millimium and a half in the past. It must
be imposed on everybody in or nearby the neighborhood. No change at all in that law can ever be permitted, according
to the fundamentalist, Wahhabi interpretation of religion followed by al-Qaeda Inc. Great restrictions must be placed on those
who live under the law of the prophet, great sacrifices must be imposed on the subjects of the, great and only, most
high being.
It is this struggle that is being imposed on the whole world by the toxic
plant rooted in Saudi Arabia and funded by Muslims. From this plant comes the creeping vines of al-Qaeda Inc., poisonous
shoots from the ideological heresies of power-worshiping clerics.
Fanatic is a Word derived from the Latin ‘fānum,’ (temple), denoting the non-reasonable enthusiasts who move out from the temples of monotheists, religionists created to generate
and enroll support for the temple.
Believing
themselves to be Holy Warriors, " shaheed" in Arabic, they seek first of all to impose their interpretations on
all Muslims in the world, calling themseves the TrueMuslim ‘believers.’
The Islamist traces his male-centered beliefs and points-of-view back
on a timeline. It is a thread of language which the "believers" insist is dictated directly through Mohammad from Allah,
the moon god, the only god, over 14 centuries ago.
This is a Dark-Age Male God, this idea of All-ah,
a Lord who demands to Rule All for the good of All:
All must learn to live in Fear of His Wrath and
All must learn to love our total Submission to this One.

A judge accepted an agreement for a ‘settlement’ by the 4.3 million-member Roman
Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles: the church will make payments totalling $660 million to individuals for the widespread
sexual rape and abuse of children by Roman Catholic priests-clergymen. The LA Archdiocese had previously paid out up to $200
million to ‘settle’ additional claims and other RC orders in California have also reached multimillion-dollar

The settlements bring to over $2 billion the amount paid out so far by and on the behalf of the U.S.
Roman Catholic Church since 1950. Additional criminal charges may be forthcoming despite a U.S. Supreme Court ruling on statues
of limitations in molestation cases.
The extent of similar abuses in the vastly wider world not protected by the U.S. Justice System remains
undisclosed. For

The
Priestly Torture and Murder of a Freethinker
February
19, 1600: Giordano Bruno (1548-1600) is burned to death at the stake for the crime of thinking
by the priests of the “Holy” Catholic Church. He had spent eight lonely years prior to his trial chained up and
routinely interrogated by ordeal in Venice and Rome.
It is said that: Immediately
following his trial and death sentence, Bruno’s mouth was permanently clamped shut with a device including an iron spike
through his tongue, another iron spike impaled through the bones at the roof of his mouth, and an iron gag. Then, he was driven naked through the streets of Rome to the Square of the Flowers where he was burned alive
by Roman clergymen in the name of The Christ. His remains were hammered into pieces and scattered. Believe It or Not.
Filippo (Giordano) Bruno had given
up his vocation as a priest of the Dominican Order in 1576 to evade the Inquisition, becoming an itinerate philosopher, specializing
in the teaching of memory techniques. Continuing
to run afoul of ecclesiastics, he never was able to settle down in one place for long. Throughout the entire life of Giordano Bruno, the Roman Inquisition had remained actively dedicated
to its relentless mission to find, “interrogate” and slaughter heretics, always ready to light its fires.
His final fall from grace with the Roman hierarchy began with the 1584 publication in London of his book
Dell Infinito, universo e mondi (Of Infinity, the Universe and the World). His ideas incorporated those of Copernicus, the man who had
the spherical earth revolving around the sun, but Bruno’s conceptions far surpassed the 1453 vision of Copernicus and
even of Galileo, both of whom left the sun at the center of the Universe.
Bruno saw the probability
of numberless other planets in a universe of stars that was limitless. He denied a Universal hierarchy, seeing an immanent, cosmic principle present throughout multiplicities of existence,
rather than a single, remote diety in a specific heaven.
He
also saw good and evil as relative concepts and said that priests had no right to use violence against “unbelievers.”
Eventually, in
1592 he was betrayed and turned over to the Inquisition in Venice to be charged with heresy, blasphemy, immoral conduct,
erroneous opinions, ect. In 1593 he was transferred to Rome and spent 7 years in prisons there.
The Roman Church, in alliance with
its armed Lords of Earthly Power, had moved steadily to eliminate all those individuals and groups who sought knowledge rather
than "faith." Books were burned by the thousands, along with the heretics.
Soon, all of the permitted literature
and art concerned only priestly discourses and fictional stories of the pious lives of “saints.” Church
names were required for all human beings, for whom “faith” was mandatory.
It is generally thought that the Romish church eliminated such an incredible amount of knowledge from the minds
and cultures of Europeans that it took until circa 1700 C.E. for the level of education to reach that attained by the Greeks
by 300 B.C.E.

"reciprocity" in tollerance requested
With this call of clerical trumpets
from the Vatican, which had backed calls for “respect” by Muslims during the prophet-cartoon jihad operation of the early months of 2006, the church of Rome began its campaign (do not call it a crusade) for “reciprocity”
in Muslim lands. The Vatican is now becoming demanding in its insistence for tolerance toward their fellow Christian-rite
minorities in all of the lands ruled by Muslim lords.
In all lands with Muslim majorities,
Muslim lords and their sponsoring clerics grant their version of Islamic rights and privileges to their “believers,”
while the rights and privileges of other faiths are restricted, often severely. Under sharia law, "people of the book" who
will not profess Islam are categorized by clerics as as dhimmi, the protected defeated ones, who have no rights under
Islam, the only legitimate source of rights.
"reciprocity" in human rights appreciated
Pope Benedict XVI aggrandized the church’s message by informing Morocco’s new ambassador to the Vatican that peace requires "respect for the religious convictions and practices of others,
in a reciprocal way, in all societies." Morocco is a relatively moderate Muslim nationstate but conversion out of Islam is forbidden, as in all societies ruled
by Muslim lords. This “abandonment” of Islam is the crime of apostasy and is punishable by death, if the apostate
does not repent during “persuasions.”
Now, the Vatican will apparently attempt to exert the pressure of its world influence on Muslim governments and international organizations
to demand reciprocity and increased cultural contacts. With the rise of Islamism from Saudi Arabian “schools of god”
since the 1970s, the emigration by Christian and other human minorities from Muslim-ruled nationstates continues increasing
rapidly.
Reciprocity is defined as allowing
Christians equal rights with Muslims, as in Western nations. This barely imaginable transformation in the World of Islam would
include the rights of non-Muslims to build houses of worship and to the free practice of religion, in other words, the rights
of free speech and free association - for Muslims. Will Islamists agree not to burn idolators? Will the Vatican insist
on equality for all religions and for all freethinkers' equality with believers in religions? Do you believe
it or not?
The church of Rome has indeed
come a long, long way and so, there must be hope for the Meccans, dare we hope.

the Crusaders, Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JUD) leader Hafiz Abdur Rahman Makki said the West and Europe have started a
campaign against Islam. “Muslims should realize Europe's enmity towards Islam and the Muslim ummah should prepare itself to defend
its faith.” MUD claimed to be acting on behalf of the International Islamic Front (IIF) for Jihad Against the Crusaders
and the Jewish People, which is headed by Osama bin Laden.
MUD is a political operation associated
with Jamaat-al-Daawa (JUD), which was formed in Pakistan following the
9-11 Islamist massacres in D.C. and N.Y.C. along with its spawn militant wing, Lashkar-e-Tayiba (LET). JUD is the world’s
largest, best funded and most vibrant Islamist factions in Pakistan.
As LET wields the bombs and guns, JUD runs an online resource www.jamatuddawa.org for Islamists worldwide, supplying a large selection of written materials and multimedia packages in Urdu, Arabic and English,
offering jihadist commentary on political-religious matters. LET is believed
to have cells in the U.S. and France which could attempt to execute the fatwa for the murder of the Pope.

Al-Qaida in Iraq Inc. proclaimed Monday, September 18, 2006, that its war against Christianity and the West will go on until Islam takes over the world. It addressed Pope Benedict
XVI, "the worshipper of the cross," with the warning that "you and the West are doomed as you can see from the defeat in Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya and
elsewhere.

Those Insult Words Just Burn Just Like Poison
"The pope's
words have caused a deep wound in the hearts of Muslims that won't heal for a long time, and then only after a clear
apology to Muslims," wrote Egypt's religious affairs minister in the government daily Al-Ahram on Monday. In Turkey, protesters waved signs saying, "Either
apologize, or do not come,” referring to a papal trip to Turkey planned for November.
An influential
Egyptian cleric, Sheik Youssef al-Qaradawi, the infamous Egyptian-born cleric and a godfather of Muslim Brotherhood,
called for protests after weekly prayers on Friday. Jihadists and “street Arabs” around the world gathered
to shout that the West was in a war against Islam. The Supreme one of Iran said that, even if the pope was deceived
by advisors, his remarks depicted Muslims as terrorists and gives the West an “excuse for suppressing Muslims. "Those who benefit from the pope's comments and drive their own arrogant policies
should be targeted with attacks and protests," he said.
The pope’s complex 3,890-word theological-philosophical treatise in German on the theme of Faith
and Reason to a group of scientific scholars, being called the Regensburg lecture of September 12, 2006, (see third paragraph for the controversial passage) was the latest and most significant papal event following
a previous challenge laid down by the pope to the clerics of Islam (see above: A Holy War Trumpet Call) to start playing
by the same rules, accompanied by an insistence to engage in discourse on the subject of Islamic jihad.
"'Not to act reasonably,
not to act with logos, is contrary to the nature of God', said Manuel II, according to his Christian understanding of God,
in response to his Persian interlocutor. It is to this great logos, to this breadth of reason, that we
invite our partners in the dialogue of cultures."
When a Terrorist can Generate Terror,

Of course, we have begun to recognize
some patterns in the recurrent demonstrations by the Cult of Perpetual Outrage. Now, we have seen a latest wave
of Muslim hate-shout, violence and murder, following a report about an insult to Islam in speech by the pope. What
they didn't know was that it was a very long and deliberate speech to intellectuals.
Whatever else happens, the Muslim outrage
gets a goal. It's designed that way. It’s a well used tool of jihad, the
soft jihad, when public demonstrations of Muslim outrage inject their fear into the discourse with the target people. The
purpose is to make their target’s peoples to hesitate to criticize or “insult” Islam, cautious to not appear
policically incorrect, or "racist." Later, they will fear retribution. Some will become compliant, the "dhimmis."
And so, the awareness of the norms of Sharia law are stealthily imposed into consciousness. Sharia is rule by fear.
Sharia is the law that cuts off a thief's hand, or the heads of apostates and blasphemers, with a sword.

A Day of Rage

The Qatari Islamic scholar of the Wahhabist school Yusuf al-Qaradawi called for a Day of Rage (Yaum
al Ghadab) in this Friday 22 following the quotation cited by Pope Benedict XVI. (off site).
Friday is the major day of prayer for Muslims, a worship with a sermon, mandatory to attend according
to the directions of the Prophet. But everyday, in their prayers and their readings, believers must acknowledge, with their
speech and their actions, the absolutism of their “religion” and of the absolute prophecy, and to do this public
acknowledgement with acclaim and with passion, to be witnessed by the others in the congregation, who are the judges of Allah
and who carry His sword.
Religion
is an emotional sort of thing. Islam is the only source of peace and joy, they are taught. Any challenge to the true religion’s
absolutism is an attack on the belief system, a slashing attack on the very net that holds the believers just above hell,
and a fiery, painful hell it is at that. They are taught to become resentful and enraged against such attackers. In their
subjects the clerics implant the seeds of rage and so rage becomes the impulse and emotional support for their communal
defense of Islam, for jihad, for their only fortress in a world of war.

Islam, for its own best good they say, is thus commandeered by their clerics, the Men who study religion, the men who
are trained to speak with authority for the Prophet. Believe it or not.
They say together, in repetetion of the rote learning process in their schoold for children, 'we
are a religion of peace and only turn violent in defense of our religion, then with vengence!' Vengence follows after victims,
as a blood sacrifice flows thereafter on a stone alter. 'See! so poetic are we! So fluid in temprement and disposition!
We love our blood martyrs, heros who remind us of the thrill of blood sacrifice.'

Iran In the city of Qom, a center
of Shiite Islam, an Ayatollah called
Abdullah Amoli, preached at the mandatory Friday services at the mosque. To his flock he reminded the pope what it is that
he, the pope, should know, "that had it not been for Islam and its divine book, nothing would have been left of Christianity
and Judaism.
As a way of warning against enemies (enemies of Islam and Christianity
bent on waging another crusade war), Amoli advised the pope to read certain brilliant and refreshing Qur’anic verses
which could verify this and other truths. So, in answer to the Pope’s invitation to Muslims to reason together,
the Ayatollah invited the Pope to look into the Arabic holy book, the
Qur’an, for reason and logic.
An Ecumenical Invitation: A Common Enemy

Radiating soft breezes resembling reason and logic,
the Ayatollah Abdullah (“slave of Allah,” alleged name of the Prophet’s father, Abd Allah) also invites
all “specialized organizations and communities” to also collect and research Qur’anic verses. Then, through
these divine words, reasons and justifications, all subjects can be understood and put at the disposal of the religious figures
and followers of “other divine religions.” In this way, proclaimed the Shiite-Muslim infallible one, all people
including the Pope, could begin to comprehend that Islam is the religion of reason and logic.
An Ayatollah is a Shiite cleric of
religion, always male, who’s learning and legal authority are considered as of the first rank. Iran is governed by two
authorities: in addition to the regular government apparatus is a parallel number of councils of hierarchical ranks and files of men, who are - clerics.
An Ayatollah’s authority rests
directly on an invisible “infallible Imam,” and so his decisions are binding on all the followers of his cults,
who gather in bands under the banner of Shia, an ideology whose rule is based on submission, on clerical-state tyranny, including
no bill of rights and severe social and sexual apartheid.
All law in the ultimate Islamic Republic
must always remain in the realm of the body of clerics, where is no division between religion and state. The clerics are
the division between religion and state. It is the mystical division that divideth not.
A Cleric hard-wired to the Headman
For all
Muslims, an imam (Arabic for “leader”) is any man who has attained a stature for leading prayers, one who will
carry the role of a caliph for a congregation of believers, a deputy of God. The office grew grander for Shiite Muslims, who
believe in Imams with a capital I. The Imams, now mostly dead, are men of a certain
line of heredity (from Hasan and Husayn) who all earned their stature as leaders through struggle (jihad). The preachers urge believers to let these be the ideotypes, the prototypes, for the everyday imam in his
everyday practice amongst his sheep, his Muslims. The presence of such a greater Iman is a prerequisite, a real and infallible
intermediary between the human and the divine on the path to human salvation. But the last one got lost; still around but
lost, somehow, and things have gone wrong.
It’s
a real yoke around the neck, for those who would prefer to just be free, you know, when your society authorizes a lot of little
holy Der Gropenfurhers getting to know everyone in the neighborhood? But
- not to worry. They will know what to do. The long, lost but always present 12th Imam is coming back into manifestation!

A Story of Mad Mahmoud
The problem
with everything is that the last Imam has been gone for a long time. The 12th and last Imam, al-Mahdi, has been
present in history since he disappeared about 870 C.E. but he is currently, well, “occulated.” This is a word
used to describe a sort of intermediate or reflected state of being, as when the moon moves between Earth and sun in a solar
eclipse, occluding our vision of sun - from certain points of view.
The
Mahdi requires Chaos for His Return
President
Mahmoud of Iran has indicated that he believes the 12th Imam is at the bottom of a well somewhere in southern Iran. So, right there, or somewhere, is the last Imam who is expected to return as a messiah in a reign of chaos near
to the end of creation, bringing a final peace and justice to human beings.

Mahmoud is said to think that the Chaos is near and now is his time to prepare for the messiah, the return of the Hidden Imam.
A present, a living Shia imam, the
powerful cleric Ayatollah Abdullah Amoli from Qom, Iran, has warned the world to be watchful against enemies of
Islam and Christianity, enemies that are bent on waging another crusade war. He want's to reign in the People of the
Book with a promise to reward them with a truce.

The West Needs To Fight Islamofascists With Big Ideas.
The West, along with Russia and China —
which have no interest in jihadist uprisings within their own territories, needs a roadmap for its war on terror, clearly
detailing its ultimate goals and how it will achieve them … It must be

SAVING THE CREATION
In a series
of letters to an imaginary Southern Baptist pastor, E.O. Wilson, Harvard professor and Pulitzer Prize–winning
entomologist, pleads for the salvation of the world’s biodiversity in The
Creation: An Appeal to Save Life on Earth" (W.W. Norton, published in September
2006) and asks with eloquence and humor why religious leaders haven't made protecting the creation part of
their mission.
Refuting fantasies

and believers in God acknowledge the glory of nature and can work together
to save it by habitat preservation, averting a
mass extinction of species being caused by man.
“There are two world views in conflict
-- religious and secular -- but yet they can meet in friendship on one of the most important issues of this century," he says.
In both world views there is a potentially powerful commitment to conservation – for saving the creation which is now
in “deep trouble.” Human life is tangled inextricably in this intricate
and fragile web of nature and understanding these small universes, Wilson says, can certainly foster human life.
"The public
opinion in the United States has become pastel green, and the green seems to be deepening," he said. "This could be just foolish optimism, but
we could be approaching the turning point."
