While sitting at home one night watching a PBS brodacast of Horatio Nelson Jackson's drive across America, Steve and
I turned to each other and said "Let's do that".
Jackson, along with Sewall Crocker is credited as being the first person to journey across the contry in an automobile,
in 1903. Jackson and Crocker had to face several obstacles, including the fact that there were no interstate car-worthy roads.
Of course our trip will be much less perilous, our car much more comfortable, and the roads...well there will
be roads going cross country. Also, we won't have have to rely on the Pony Express for any spare car parts.
We will be trying to update this site as often as possible, but between all the driving and fun we'll be
doing and having, well...you can guess where our priorities may lie.
