Brendan Dure: Weeks 2-3
We've
had a lot of requests for more photos, and I'll try to comply over the next
week or two. He's still a newborn, growing ounce by ounce (thanks to frequent feedings
at all hours) but not looking all that different.
Since Teddy doesn't seem to mind the camera, we're going to chart Brendan's growth with the occasional comparison shot. This one was sheer luck. I love Teddy's expression. He's a very protective dog; in fact, he's a little suspicious of me when I get near Brendan.
Brendan is picking up the outside world quickly. Literally. On his 21st day, he had fun mangling my face, grabbing my lip and nose.
He also has been in his swing for the first time, and he's discovered the joys of napping in his "boppy" pillow with all the clouds. Well, to be honest, we've discovered the joys of letting him nap in the boppy, which is much more convenient than his other daytime sleep options. We've also put him in his mini-gym, where he can knock things around.
For a three-week-old kid, he has a strong neck. Frightfully strong. I'm sometimes afraid that he's going to launch himself off the bed like a salmon jumping upstream.
When I take pictures this week, I'll try to capture his facial expressions. He sometimes scrunches up into that fussy Winston Churchill face that all babies have, but then he relaxes and looks around in the cutest eye movements since The Bangles were in their MTV heyday.
