Brendan Dure: October 2003 (first full month)
My,
he's growing up fast. Next month, he'll be doing algebra.
OK, that's exaggerated. He hasn't quite grasped certain concepts, such as the fact that Daddy's nose simply isn't going to produce milk, no matter how hard he tries. But he's certainly getting brighter.
And bigger! We apologize if he's not wearing one of those great 0-3 month outfits. He just doesn't fit many of them.
He loves Mommy and Daddy, but he did just fine on his first babysitting experiences. (He was the sittee, not the sitter.)
Mommy has taken him to two movies -- Intolerable Cruelty and Runaway Jury. He preferred the former. We're not sure if that's because it was a comedy or because he has a thing for Catherine Zeta Jones. (See, we told you he was getting brighter.)
Brendan and Mommy also went to the mall for ice cream. He can't wait until he can have it himself. We're thankful that he has yet to understand TV advertising.
He also shows the occasional interest in mobiles and other things he can swat. He's especially fixated on elephants.

A lot of the things we've heard about parenthood aren't quite right (hey, when do we get the banana bread?), but we appreciate all the advice and reassurances that baby Brendan is growing up nicely. |
