| I call this pure joy - Beebe and her grandson! |
Who can say enough good things about this mountain – let me try a few. We started with Beebe at the front desk – not only did this 77-year-old woman
greet us with a warm – no radiant, smile BUT we got to meet her son Ken and her grandson. Beebe had an easy-going nature that is typical of many true New Englanders – Zip and I almost forgot
to get our ski runs because of our nice visit with her. With ticket number 17
safely added to the collection around my neck, we headed out to what was promoted as the only six-passenger high-speed chair
lift in New England – watch out as it swoops wide around the corner and
scoops you off your feet.
Much visiting with people on our three or four chair rides – everyone
seemed very relaxed and mellow. The runs were well groomed (every mountain was
facing the January “boilerplate challenge”), especially on the sides. I
got so curious about the mobile snowmaking gun – well take a look at the photo on this page – sometimes my curiosity
gets the best of me.
Ragged has a great feel
– feel includes the people (employees AND skiers), lodge (rustic feel – not manufactured character), efficiency
(few waits for lifts, tickets or food), setting (more forest and mountain and fewer condos and over-development) and of course
the ski conditions (lots of soft stuff and a mix of difficulty). Ragged did well
on all fronts and would love to bring the family back sometime.
