Okemo shouts of youth, speed, fun and funky
trail names. The crowds seemed strongly high school and college age and lighter
on the family side. Take a look at the picture of the funky wool ski hat with
chrome spikes worn by what seemed to be a Junior in high school – now that is cool!
Check out the two high speed chairs right outside the base lodge – just walk 50 paces out of the front steps
and you are in line for these super fast lifts. Even the trial names seem on
the edge – Stumpjumper, Rimrock, Upper Wild Thing and Blind Faith lead the list of fast, aggressive type names. If I have time, I will devote a whole web page to all the crazy names of ski runs
