Robert Frost's poetry has become an integral part of
American culture. I have put some of Frost's poems to music which you can read and hear on the following pages. Robert Frost
is one of the most widely read and anthologized poets of all time. His poetry, while appearing simple on the surface, probes
into some of the darkest corners of the human psyche. Varied setrtings, characters and reactions to the human condition make
his poetry accessible to and appreciated by a wide audience. Some of his poems have distinct rhythms and patterns that
give them a musical quality, and that was the inspiration for this project. The moods of these poems range from dark and gloomy
to bright and cheerful, and I have tried to capture some of those moods in the music I have set them to.
