Jung coined the term synchronicity. He did not explain it
well in his later years though he did try. Jung's synchronicity is a seemingly intelligent energy that communicates
with an individual by calling attention to patterns of events. It reveals itself in patterns of related events *clustered* in
time.
For example say one begins reading a novel after work on a Monday to relax and
finds the name of the main character is Tod Rodgers and in the book he lives on Livingston Street
in some small town in Maine .
One is walking the dog down their own street after dinner on that same evening
and sees a moving van with the name Livingston Bros. on it. One takes only minor notice and
thinks * isn't that a coincidence*.
Next day at work which is Tuesday , one is introduced to a transfered employee
who happens to be named Tod Livington. In passing at lunch he tells you he just moved into
an apartment on Rodgers Street and that he was originally from Maine. Your mouth drops open...
This is an example where the fictional realm of the book *bled over *into the
*reality* of the reader in a span of less than 48 hours.
It would seem that this is happening more often today that it did in the recent
past. Or one could say that people are more open to notice the phenomena and discuss the clusters of
coincidence when they occur.
The responses to the stories told range from - isn't that freaky, that's odd
to actual disbelief !!!
In fiction there are stories about books that when *opened* act as dimensional
portals as the characters step out into the World of the reader. I find reading Stephen King sets this energy in motion.
The same is true of certain movies, some examples are Jumani, The Dark Half, etc. I have yet to see *23* but
it seems to discuss the clustering effect .
I have shortened the word used by Jung to simply the Synchronic (s) or Synchronix
(pl).
