Staffordshire Bull Terrier

This little brindle dog is a fine looking example of a working Staffordshire Bull Terrier from Ireland today. The dog is about 15" tall and 28 pounds and out of a line being referred to as "Lee's Strain" in Europe. Cute little bugger, isn't he?

This is Zac, owned by Lee Yates of England. He's a two-year-old 3/4 Irish Stafford and 1/4 English Bull Terrier. 19 inches to the withers, 39lbs kennel weight. He's a game bred dog that Lee uses for hunting Fox and rabbits and Lee says he's a great companion and home protection dog too.

"The dog wagged his tail but moved not. Sikes made a running moose and called him again."
The above drawing is one of the original drawings by George Cruikshank done for the illustrated classic novel "Oliver Twist" (1838) by Charles Dickens of London, England.
