RU 2007
After
a disappointing loss last week against Maryland,
we were hoping to get a big win tonight against Cincinnati. To increase our chances and get a “Good Mojo”, we decided it was time for the RU Man
to make his appearance at the tailgate party. Many people stopped by and took pictures while they were heading to the stadium.
This was our biggest tailgate party that we have had so far. We ate everything from shrimp to sausage sandwiches, huge hotdogs,
and quesdillas.
The first half, Rutgers looked good. Devin McCourty returned
an interception 36 yards for a touchdown, Ito had a 27-yard field goal and Rice's
1-yard run gave Rutgers a 10-point halftime lead. (17-10).
This looked promising, but Cincinnati
turned up the heat in the second half. A Teel pass was intercepted and Cincinnati went on to score.
Cincinnati’s defense stepped up, causing RU to settle for an Ito field goal. Cincinnati
was up 28-20 at the end of the 3rd.

Big upset tonight! Rutgers knocks off the #2 team in the country, University of South Florida. South Florida
was unbeaten until this game. Rutgers played well tonight, with 7 sacks, several trick plays, and several field goals, including
a long 51yd Jeremy Ito 3 pointer.
Some suprises included place kicker Jememy Ito's 36 yard pass after a fake punt play. Later, in the
third quarter, the holder, Andrew DePaola, threw a suprise 15 yd touchdown pass to Kevin Brock after a fake field goal. At
the end of the 3rd Quarter, RU was leading 27-20.
Ray Rice had 181 yds rushing, Tiquan Underwood had 114 yds recieving.
Overall this was a very exciting game. There was a record crowd at the stadium tonight: 44,267, even larger
than last years Louiseville game. Rutgers overall standing ais 5-2.

| RU fans expecting a big win... |
After a successful 2007 season, we were looking forward to a great 2008. Since this was a 4PM game,
we got set up early, around 12noon. We were able to get our favorite tailgate spot, setup the tents, the RU man and started
cooking right away.
Todays game was against #25 ranked Fresno State. . Coming off of a 8-5 2007 season and with 15 starters
and 49 letterman, we expected good things against this Fresno team. This game was aired on ESPN and was a sold out game.
Unfortunately, this game was a disappointment. The game was scoreless for the first half and then Fresno
woke up and scored 4 TDs. RU was able to score 1TD, a 1yd run by Kordell Young. Final score: RU 7, Fresno 24. Coach Shiano's
comments: "Out of sync" & "Disappointing".. that pretty much summed it up.

We set up our tailgate at 9am in 25degs with a little wind. After setting up the usual tents and tables,
Matt suprised us with his newest gadget... a propane space heater... it really worked pretty good, as seen in this picture.
