One of our favorite places to camp is in
the Adirondack Mountains, New York State. This picture
was taken in 1995 looking over Bulwagga Bay towards the High Peak area.
The Henckels have been vacationing in the Adirondacks for generations. For close to 70
years, they stayed in cottages in Westport, NY. That property was sold by the owner around 1977 and the Henckels began camping
instead. For several years they camped at Port Henry, NY. This was acceptable at first, but everyone was looking for someplace
a little better. After looking at different campgrounds such as DAR in Vermont, Bulwagga Bay Campgrounds, Paradox Lake, and
others, everyone decided that Crown Point, which is situated at the lower end of Lake Champlaign, was a good place for family
camping.
