Help me Lord,

I need someone beside me,

To get me out of bed when I cannot,

To walk me to my second job, when I am bone tired,

To help put down the drink I promised not to have,

To keep my children away from the dealers,

To give me will to never beat her again,

To teach me how to love my son,

To stand with me when I speak up,

To understand why he left,

To hear me when I cry,

To resolve my anger,

To give me hope,

To forgive.

Hold me Lord,

I cannot do it myself,

When I hear the sirens,

When the police knock on the door,

When mommy comes home drunk,

When there is nothing to eat,

When the cancer returns,

When the soldiers come,

When I am let go,

When I am alone,

When I fear.

My life for you, Lord,

is all I have

to give.
