Here's a nascent list of good religious oriented CD's. I'm sticking with the theme of the site, here. Like
many others, I went though my death metal phase some years ago, and it might be best to avoid that issue. I still
have some old KISS albums around somewhere. Unlike KISS, the music on this page should be uplifting,
thought provoking and inspiring.

There are not many entries, I know. I find much Christian music to be too smooth, and not challenging enough to
be interesting. I need to do some more work to dig out those nuggets! If you click on the picture, Amazon will
be happy to sell you the album.
If you think of and album or artist I might like, please drop me an e-mail with a suggestion!

This Jennifer Knapp's first album (first major release, anyway).
Frankly, I was floored when I heard it. She manages, on different songs, to sound like Bonnie Raitt, Melissa Etheridge,
and Tracy Chapman, despite the fact that this is all original work.
Moreover, the subject matter is not just praising god, but doing so with angst,
fear, and guilt that we all must over come. There are a number of songs about seeking redemption, with enough
edge to them to make them feel real. I play guitar, and have had a great time learning these songs and singing
them (to myself, nobody else wants to hear me sing).

Jennifer Knapp, Lay It Down.
This is a good album. I did not like EVERY song, as I did with
Jennifer Knapp's first album, but it is filled with good music, in the same vein as "Kansas." There are some striking
ballads on this CD.
