About the Concours Owners Group

The "Concours Owners Group" (COG), is a non-profit organization, supported and run primarily by Kawasaki Concours Owners.

The Club's goal is to provide a venue for members to forge new friendships, explore new locales, and share tips on motorcycle maintenance, accessories, and safety. The Club strives to foster goodwill among the public toward motorcyclists at each event we hold.

Although the formation of this Club revolved around the Kawasaki Concours, the Club and its activities are open to owners of all makes of motorcycles, motorcycle related businesses, and motorcycle enthusiasts.

COG is managed through an Executive Board which consists of an Executive Director, and six Area Directors. The Area Directors represent members in the six geographical regions of North America. These regions are known as the; North Central; North East; North West; South Central; South East; South West Areas.

Memberships for areas outside of North America are represented by one of the six Area Directors as designated by the Executive Board.

Membership in COG is currently $30 per year, and includes a subscription to our National Magazine "The Concourier", a regional Newsletter, and a Membership Directory. Additional information regarding COG can be found at: www.concours.org

About COG - Northeast Area

The "COG Northeast Area" is made up of 13 States and 6 Canadian Provinces. The Northeast Area is headed up by Director Steven Smith of Connecticut, affectionately known as our NEAD. Steve also hosts a Northeast Area web site which provides Club information on the entire Northeast Area. For more information on other Regional Areas within COG Northeast, visit Steve's web site at;

About - COG Massachusetts......and more!

State Directors are not elected Club Officials, like the Area Directors, and other members of the Executive Board. State Directors or Assistant Area Directors (AAD's), as we are called, are volunteers whose duties are to assist the elected Area Directors in all of their duties, as well as manage the Club membership and activities within our volunteer areas.

I volunteered to be the Massachusetts Assistant Area Director (AAD) in 2002. In the Fall of 2005, the previous AAD for the State of NH resigned his post. To ensure Club representation throughout the remaining New England States, I volunteered to assume the role of State Director for the States of; Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont, as well as continue to be the State Director for Massachusetts.

As you know, New England is made up of ( 6 ) States, so the States of Connecticut and Rhode Island will remain under the supervision of their existing AADs.

I live in Massachusetts, in a small town about 30 miles north of Boston, called Dracut, and I've been a member of the Concours Owners Group since 1988, and have owned a number of Kawasaki Concours motorcycles since my first in 1987. I first started riding motorcycles at age 18, back in 1973. Currently, I own a midnight blue, 2004 Concours.

As COG AAD, I host rides, rallies, and other club activities throughout the entire year. State membership for Massachusetts fluxuates somewhat, but is typically between 60 - 70 members at any one time. Membership is somewhat less in the other three Northern New England States, that I'm now responsible for.

If your interested in joining COG and live in one of the four Nothern New England States that I'm responsible for, contact me - I'd be happy to sign you up!

Hope you enjoy my web site!
Regards;

Kevin Martin - AAD
