Vickie Taylor wrote her first novel in 1997. Upon
completion, too much of a wimp to let anyone she actually knew read
it, she sent her baby off to a few contests to get some anonymous feedback.
Little did she know how her life was about to change: a few months later,
she had won all four of the Romance Writers of America chapter contests
she’d entered, was a Golden Heart finalist, and had sold the book to
Silhouette Intimate Moments!
Since then, Vickie has sold eight more romantic
suspense novels to Silhouette Books, as well as two single title paranormals
and a vampire novella to Berkley. Among the recognition she's received for
her work are a win in the long contemporary category of the Daphne du
Maurier contest, a 4 1/2 star, Top Pick review from Romantic Times magazine,
and a 2004 RITA nomination.
Vickie lives in a small town in north Texas dubbed
"The Heart of Horse Country" where she rounds out her writing days raising
American Quarter Horses, volunteering with the local Humane Society to help
homeless and abandoned pets, and serving on a K-9 search and rescue team.
Her next release, a vampire novella called BLOOD LUST, will be
released in January, 2005 as part of the BITE anthology with Laurell
K. Hamilton, Charlaine Harris, Angela Knight and Mary Janice Davidson. |
