Dear Friends,

On Sunday morning, September 9th, at 1:30a.m., God awakened me out of a deep sleep. I knew it was Him, so I sat on the sofa and waited for Him to speak. He said, “Judgment is at the door! Don’t get your eyes on judgment; keep your eyes on the harvest.”

He took me to many scriptures, the main one being John 4. Jesus had just “harvested” the woman at the well, while His disciples were in the city buying meat. When they returned, they “prayed Him, saying, ‘Master, eat.’ But He said unto them, ‘I have meat to eat that ye know not of... My meat is to do the will of Him that sent Me, and to finish His work. Say not ye, “There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest”? Behold, I say unto you, “Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest””’ (John 4:31-32, 34-35).

Three times Sunday, I preached the message, “What is your meat?” Your ‘meat’ is what you use your time for, what you think about, and what you invest your money and resources in. In other words, your meat is what you give your life to, and you do become what you eat. If what drives you, dominates your thoughts, and dictates how you spend your time and His money is anything other than Jesus and submission to His Spirit, then you are either lost or backslidden, and you need to repent. Don’t assume there are four months before you are harvested, either by God’s angels or by satan! Repent and begin to live today as though your life is as uncertain as were the lives of those who died on September 11th.

We are moving into action for souls. It is guerilla warfare! We need to go where satan has them captive in bondage and ‘caves’, where there has been no one to say, “Give them up!” One in our midst obviously has the gift of personal soul-winning. That is his ‘meat’; that is what he loves to do. We are going to trust God to empower us to support him and his family while he uses his gift. God says, ‘When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the Lord will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them. I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the Lord has done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it” (Isaiah 41:17,18, 20).

Another one in our midst came out of the drug scene five years ago. He has compassion for those still there. We have two motels in our city that are known as havens for drugs, alcohol, and prostitution. We have all cursed them and their works. God has said to rent a room there to provide a hospitality house for the addicts and prostitutes, and to always have a pot of chili or hot soup to offer with a heart full of love and compassion. David and his wife, Cindy, are eager to get started, using God’s love as the ‘bait’, fishing for the souls of men and women, and snatching them out of the fires of hell.

I have told our fellowship this: Each person has a gift. It may not be that they are the front man or woman in evangelism. But there will always be a need for someone to cook the food or buy the food, to visit the sick, or to write letters of encouragement and discipleship. Others can provide transportation or housing for new converts. The greatest need we all have is intercession. We should all begin to live like the church lived in the book of Acts. That is the only way we will be able to survive in the days ahead.

I have recently had two sore toes. It was amazing how hindered I was in my walk and how much pain I had. God spoke to me through this and showed me the importance of every part of His body. No part is inconsequential. Every part of the body of Christ is needed to finish the work of which Jesus spoke. How faithful are you being with the gift He has imparted to you?

It is obvious that God is now in the process of destroying all the idols of Egypt. The power of commerce has been stricken; the power of military might has been stricken; Wall Street has been stricken. Soon the idol of medicine will be shown to be powerless.
My question to you is this: How many of the idols of Egypt control you? To whatever degree you are dependent upon any of them, that is the degree to which satan and the powers of darkness can torment you with fear.

“For the Lord spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying.. .neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid. Sanctify the Lord of hosts Himself; and let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread. And (or then) He shall be for a sanctuary” (Isaiah 8:11-13). That pretty well says it. Get lost in Jesus. If you are having problems doing this, study Luke 11. You won’t have His heart, nor the power to do those things that are in His heart, until you are totally baptized (submerged) in His Spirit. Luke 11 tells us that this happens when we ask and keep on asking, seek and keep on seeking, knock and keep on knocking, until we are one with Him. When we are baptized, submerged, “buried” in Him, our lives won’t be about us anymore. It will all be Jesus!

A word to those who have their faith in the provision they have stored up for themselves and their family. That trust and provision may testify against you on the day of judgment. A treasure of several million dollars worth of gold and silver was hidden away in the lower levels of the World Trade Center. Now it is covered over with more than 5,000 bodies. I think this is a picture for us. Our “storing up” produces death. God gives gifts to be used for life! Be sure you are a good steward of His gifts, both spiritual and material ones. Everything He gives us is to be given back to Him to be used as He chooses.

We want to encourage you in your walk with the Lord and we want to stir up your heart toward Him, because time is short and multitudes are in the valley of decision. One last word: Don’t think that a revival of patriotism is a substitute for a revival of repentance. It is not. Don’t think that our prayers can be mixed with the prayers of haters of Jesus and be heard. Our persecution will become intense when we show that we cannot be one with the religions of the world and when we boldly say, “Jesus is the only way to the Father”. Count the cost and then get ready for persecution. It is promised.
