NATURALLY RESISTANT TO DECAY, INSECT

Because of this superior resistance, cedar is frequently also used for outdoor fencing, and siding
on homes.

Each of our cedar pieces is given a coat of Seasonitetm New Wood Treatment to control
moisture and reduce cracking & warping in woods vulnerable first year.
Left unfinished, they will weather (outdoors) to a fine gray patina within
a couple of years. You can enjoy the natural graying or protect them with a quality sealer when they reach the stage of weathering
you prefer.
If you would like to maintain the original rich look of our beautiful cedar furniture when
kept outdoors, under a porch, patio or in the yard, we do recommend a stain/sealer.
There are many products available at your local hardware store or home center. Most products vary in colors such as clear,
cedar tone, redwood, etc.
The clear products are great if you are not looking to change the natural red cedar color.
We prefer a little darker tint such as a cedar tone which is helpful in maintaining the original look while
protecting the wood from harmful UV rays or body oils. (I use CWV Brand Cedar Tone with UV protection.)
Many
of our customers enjoy our Red Cedar furniture indoors in which case we recommend 2
coats of clear polyurethane. An example of this would be the Mission Coffee Table on our Home Page.
